About Dave Bremner
Dave used to run companies but found that he couldn’t run these and follow his love of music and martial arts. So approx. 10 years ago Dave “left the rat race” to follow his heart fully supported by his best friend and wife Julie. He now lives a good life with his wife of near 20 years and their son Ryan, teaching martial arts to both kids and adults and writing songs and has just started on a novel and kids books. The spare time he has had during the day has allowed Dave to write a variety of songs and get these to release status.
This writer has been around the music business for more years than he would want to admit and success has been hard to find. However, this has never cut into the passion of writing and/or performing. Playing solo and/or in bands Dave has always been happiest playing his own compositions, but will cover songs folks know and want to hear as long as they fit with his own style and can produce a decent cover of the song. The typical gig will include songs by Marc Bolan, Ian Hunter, Vince Gill, Bruce Springsteen, John Denver, Pink and several other folk/rock artists as well as his own writings.
Dave’s own songs have been recorded either as solo projects or with a band of eclectic musicians called Luna Reklipse. This combo produced a superb album of rock arrangements of a number of Dave’s songs called NEW BEGINNING. However not long after this epic album was recorded and released, their incredible bass player JOHN THOMSON, sadly passed away. This affected Dave badly and he closed down the journey of LUNA REKLIPSE and took time off away from the music scene to give him some breathing space.
As the months passed by Dave couldn’t even pick up a guitar never mind get the creative juices flowing until he was asked to play at a private function. He played just 6 numbers and the response he got – especially to his own songs - told him the time was right to get going again. Realising that he was now favouring a more relaxed sound – he started writing again and has come up with a new more country-based sound. However, the influence of the 70s Glam and Heavy rock era won't be far away.
Later this year Dave will be re – releasing a Celtic Rock track called Highland Home – with any profits going to a Scottish cancer relief charity called very aptly CLAN. A wonderful organisation that cares for those who need their help. Dave was once one of those souls in need, and never forgets the support he got.
This hard working jobbing songwriter has always dreamt of having someone notable in the industry record and perform his songs – and he will keep the fight going to make this happen going until the final bell – more songs already in production awaiting final producer input. Different sounds on the way from this writer of memorably singable melodies that sit behind /support his rock poems.
